SERAPHIM WING
Racial Literacy and Complex Trauma
A PROGRAM FOR RACIAL LITERACY
Racial literacy is a model of personal and societal wellness emphasizing skills for racial stress reduction and interpersonal behavioral shift. Instead of a list of dos and don’ts, racial literacy takes time and personal investment. We explore the personal costs of systemic injustice and build core skills for everyday racial encounters.
ONE
Get ready to take in
facts and feelings about
a racialized society

profession & organization

the complexity and trauma of
racial group experiences

I had a colleague once who got mad at me
because I told him he was White.
He got so mad that he wanted to fight me.
But that wouldn't do so he walked away to spite me.
So I followed him to enlighten him, ever so lightly.
